Publications

Over the past two decades, I have written a lot of conference papers, academic and practitioner articles, columns and blogs, chapters in books and even books. Some were really good (...), some were not so good (in hindsight). Below you will find a few examples of publications that I am proud of (e.g. my first international article in 1996) and that are publicly available. Some of my research papers are published in academic journals (e.g. Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Services Marketing), and these are less easy to share. PhD research projects - NEVI Chair Maastricht University

Conducting academic research is a great way to develop a deeper understanding of the world around us. Since 2007 I have supervised two PhD research projects at Maastricht University (both sponsored by NEVI). The first project is about supplier development and what it takes to get preferential treatment from your suppliers (Blonska, 2010)) and the other is bout how to boost creativity in sourcing teams and buyer supplier teams (Kiratli, 2016). Below you can find a PDF copy of both PhD theses. Currently I'm supervising a third project on developing a better understanding of how procurement professionals balance their job demands and job resources.

Speaker assignments

It is great to speak about Procurement and Supply Chain Management in public. Nothing is more practical than good theory! I am regularly invited to speak for (inter)national audiences of practitioners ranging from 12 up to 300. Combining sound content with an engaging way of presenting best describes my style.
